This is a very special recording and has become one of my favorites (and one of the favorites of the staff at AIX Records). The musicians are absolutely first class...just take a look at their bios, and you know they are capable of musicial expression of the highest level. The arrangements by Laurence Juber with help from his associates take each tune in its own direction. Listen to the 5/4 meter of Oh Tannenbaum or the Celtic influence of I Saw Three Ships...and revel in the surf version of Hark, The Herld Angels Sing. The stage perspective is mixed from the middle of the ensemble, which brings you inside the music like you've never heard before (unless you own other AIX titles). Check it out. This will be playing long after the holidays are gone.
