Eric Lowen and Dan Navarro wrote lots of songs together for their themselves and a number for other artists including their best known mega-hit [it reached No. 5 on the Billboard Chart] “We Belong” that Pat Benatar made famous in October of 1984. They wrote, performed, recorded and toured for more than twenty years to a dedicated fan base throughout the U.S. On March 17, 2004, Eric was diagnosed with Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS), also known as Lou Gehrig’s disease. Eric’s last performances were in 2009 on the east coast. Eric died at the age of 60 on March 23, 2012.

The artistry and experience of 20 plus years performing and writing together shine through on these songs. Eric and Dan were as different as they could be but were perfect partners in music. We lost a rare talent in 2012 but his songs and legacy live on in this recording. Shortly before he died, Eric called me and thanked me for producing this album. His neighbors had finally set up a surround sound system with video in his living space and he had the chance to really experience the project. I was so appreciative. I’m sure you’ll love the tunes and the recordings. If you want the full fan experience of Lowen & Navarro, you’ll want to get the Collector’s Edition double disc set.
